VESSEY MEMORIAL HALL

The museum serves as the principal repository of General John Vessey. Born in Lakeville (1922) and raised in Minneapolis, he enlisted in 1939. His 46-year military career covered much of the Cold War. Prior to his death in 2016, he donated much from his time as a soldier and stateman to the museum. At the heart of the new building design is the General John Vessey Memorial Hall.

Thomas Saylor, Rick Nash, John Morris and Sam Krawczyk, the General’s grandson, have done much to commemorate this legacy of Minnesota’s most decorated Veteran.
